Podcast: Terrence Malick Movie Series

Terrence Malick is a filmmaker we’ve talked about many of times over the years, and has become a favorite of ours, with The Tree of Life even landing in JD’s Top 10 Movies of All-Time. Understandably, some will find his films meandering, but his lyricism and poetry is something that deeply resonates with us. He’s an emotional and spiritual filmmaker whose visual storytelling and intimate dialogue is uniquely his own. It’s become such a vivid distinction that the term “Malickian” has become a descriptor for others using his techniques. Say what you will about Malick, but no one makes movies like he does, thus making him one of the more influential directors in recent years. So, join us in our journey, as we travel through the badlands of Montana, the new world of America, Texas in the 1950s (which somehow also includes the Big Bang and dinosaurs), and so much more.
