Podcast: The Eyes of My Mother, Under the Shadow – Extra Film

This week on the InSession Film Podcast: Extra Film segment, we tackle two horror films in The Eyes of My Mother and Under the Shadow as we round out our 2016 campaign.

This last year was terrific for first-time directors. We mentioned notable candidates such as Robert Eggers for The Witch, Kelly Fremon Craig for The Edge of Seventeen and Trey Edwards Shultz for Krisha. However, there were a few others and we highlighted them on this week’s show. Both The Eyes of My Mother and Under the Shadow featured first timers in Nicolas Pesce and Babak Anvari respectively. Did they live up to the best of 2016? Well, you’ll have to listen to find out. Either way, there is potential there for their futures.

On that note, have fun listening to this week’s Extra Film segment and let us know what you think in the comment section below. Hope you enjoy and thanks for listening!
