Poll: What is the best “robot uprising” movie?
If last year’s documentary The Social Dilemma taught us anything, a robot uprising is no longer outside the realm of possibility. One day, we may even see some of the most classic science fiction novels filed under ‘non-fiction’ at your local bookstore. I am obviously jesting (sort of), but it felt appropriate to be a little comically subversive when the inspiration for this week’s poll comes in the form of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller’s latest animated production, The Mitchells vs. the Machines. Many films have shown us the uprising of artificial intelligence, but they don’t always lead to favorable results for the human race; here’s hoping the Mitchell family can save us this time around.
So what do you think is the best “robot uprising” movie? We realize this is a rather loose description, as some of these movies are less direct in their narratives about “robot domination”; but the implication is still there for all of them.
