This week on the InSession Film Podcast, we discuss Sarah Polley’s new film Women Talking and Ryan McQuade joins us to talk JD Dillard’s latest Devotion! Plus, a few thoughts on She Said and The Wonder.
We’ve been anticipating this episode for quite some time. We’ve championed Polley’s Stories We Tell as one of the best documentary’s of the last decade and have been eager to see what she does next. Well, Women Talking is here and it did not disappoint (on a side note, we did have a guest scheduled for this review as well, but unfortunately something came up at the last minute for her). As for Devotion, it may be the most underrated film of the year. It’s not what the marketing suggests and it’s surprisingly quite good (and a big thanks to Ryan for filling in for that review).
