This week on the InSession Film Podcast, we are joined by Billy from We Watched A Thing to discuss the latest Marvel entry Thor: Love and Thunder and our Top 3 movies about lost faith! Plus, a little discuss on Phase 4 of the MCU and why it’s been so divisive.

A big thanks to Billy for joining us on the show this week. He’s really wonderful to talk to and it was a pleasure to finally get him on the show. Thor: Love and Thunder may not be the best that the MCU has to offer, but it had incredible potential and we spent a fair amount of time combing through it. Despite how you feel about Marvel’s new film, it inspired one of our favorite Top 3 discussions we’ve had in some time.

On that note, check out this week’s show and let us know what you think in the comment section. Thanks for listening and for supporting the InSession Film Podcast!

– Notes / Discussion (58:13)

This week for our break segment, as mentioned above, we decided to dive further into Phase 4 of the MCU given the discourse that surrounds it. Marvel hasn’t been, ahem, secret about the wars its planning, so we know where it’s going despite click-baity articles that suggest otherwise. The question is more around quality and has Marvel dipped slightly coming off the heels of Phase 3?

Top 3 Movies About Lost Faith (1:33:55)
One of the more fascinating aspects about Thor: Love and Thunder is Gorr the God Butcher, played wonderfully by Christian Bale. At the beginning of the film we see he’s a devout man begging for help from his god, but things change for him when he and his daughter are abandoned. Faith and doubt have coexisted in film in some rather profound ways throughout the years. This exercise was a daunting task given the amount of films apt to this topic, and the extreme quality that exists among them. However, it also sparked one of our favorite lists we’ve done in quite awhile. This was a lot of fun and we loved diving into the films that made our lists. That said, what would be your top 3?
