This week on the InSession Film Podcast: Extra Film segment, we discuss Asghar Farhadi’s latest film The Salesman, which recently won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. We also dive into Macon Blair’s directorial debut, which won the Grand Jury Prize at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore.
This week’s show is a great example of how release schedules can be frustrating on occasion. If we were able to couple The Salesman with Toni Erdmann, that would have made for a fascinating show comparing the greatness of both films. Thus, we were not that lucky. Still, we are happy we got to see and discuss both on the show. It was also fun to talk about Blair in a different light this week. He does have a cameo in Don’t Feel at Home, but his turn at the director’s chair was quite interesting and it was fun talking about his new role.
On that note, have fun listening to this week’s Extra Film segment and let us know what you think in the comment section below. Hope you enjoy and thanks for listening!
