This week on Extra Film, Ryan and Jay are joined by Nicole Ackman as they continue their Steven Soderbergh Movie Series with The Informant!, and then they discuss the latest action blockbuster, Uncharted!
We now reach the level in Soderbergh’s career where he is mostly focused on making his own style of movies that aren’t going to wow at the box office but will still be great and unique in their own right. Case in point, The Informant! tackles corrupt greed told through an absolute lair, played by Matt Damon. The guys and Nicole get into the film, as well as Nicole’s tricky relationship with the famous lead actor.
In the back half of the episode, the boys dive deep into Uncharted. While the Extra Film guys are normally not the target audience for these movies, given their untrustworthy relationship with modern blockbusters, Uncharted is a surprisingly entertaining little flick. Not one of their favorite films of all time, but not the worst thing they have seen, thus they have favorable things to say about it.
