This week on the InSession Film Podcast, inspired by Wildwood coming to theaters, we discussed our Top 5 stop-motion animated movies! Plus, a discussion on the box office for You Can See Everything, the trailer for Greta Gerwig’s Narnia and Netflix making big changes.
– Box Office (4:53)
We begin the show this week by talking about the weekend’s box office and the incredible showing by You Can See Everything. A three-hour documentary(!!) brought in $15 million on just 855 screens. For context, that doubled what Digger and The Social Reckoning hauled in, both of which were on 2,500+ screens. 2026 has been quite the year for the box office and this is anther fascinating angle to the narrative.
– Narnia Trailer / Netflix Changes (11:41)
We also wanted to talk about the first trailer for Greta Gerwig’s new film Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew. It may be making changes from he source material, but you don’t want the adaptation to be beat for beat. If you ask us, it looks very promising. Is this film what’s prompted changes at Netflix? Not sure, but Dan LIn is out as Film Chief and one has to wonder. We discuss.
– Top 5 Stop-Motion Films (35:48)
Stop-motion is some of our very favorite types of film. There’s something about the artistry of it, and the painstaking detail that comes with the form, that pops off the screen. We’ve done this list before, but it was a decade ago (funny enough when another LAIKA film came out with Kubo) and we felt like it was time to give it another go. Especially since Megan wasn’t with us the last time around. There are so many great stop-motion animated movies to talk about, and we had a great time with this one. With that said, what did you think of our lists?
