This week on Extra Film, Ryan and Jay continue their Pedro Almodóvar Movie Series with Talk to Her and then they discuss The Rescue!
The boys are back to talk about their next Almodóvar with Talk to Her, the film that won the director the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Forged on the idea of two men in love with women in comas, Talk to Her is Almodóvar’s darkest film yet in the series and asks tough, moral questions that the audience, and Ryan and Jay, have to grapple with.
In the back half of the episode, the boys dive into The Rescue, considered by many to be one of the best documentaries of the year. After the boys seemed to go hard on Flee, they were more positive on The Rescue, which has a gripping story and emotional beat that makes it sore over lackluster directing choices.
