To begin the show this week, we once again dive into our 2025 homework as Brendan gives us his thoughts on Wicked: For Good, a film that just did not click for us. We also debate the Spanish film Sirāt and its bleak twist that takes place halfway through the film. Say what you will about the film, but it very much plays into a major 2025 theme and that alone makes it interesting. Brendan then gives us his thoughts on the animated film A Magnificent Life and JD talks about Shelby Oaks, 2000 Meters to Andriivka, The Plague and The Baltimorons.

With the exception of doing our Top 10 movies of the year, this is always the most challenging exercise we do on the show. 2025 ended up being a great year for film, and it came with a flurry of incredible scenes to parse through. There was a great mix, too, between mainstream Hollywood, awards movies, indies and the great international gems we got this last year. Whether these moments connected with us on an emotional level, a cinematic level, or simply as spectacle, there were some stunner sequences in film this year. It may have been an arduous task, but it’s always the most fun as we dive into our year-end festivities. With that said, what would be your Top 10?
