We begin this week by discussing the box office to Tron: Ares and why it’s disappointing, even if we aren’t the biggest fans of the film itself. Ares was probably always an uphill battle, but it’s underwhelming results was likely preventable if they had consider Tron: Legacy more given its cult following.
– Indy & the Oscars / Diane Keaton (27:14)
We have a deep love/hate relationship with the Oscars. While we recognize its importance to culture and those who win, the whole affair is kind of absurd. It’s especially crazy when the best actors can’t even be considered. Which is the rant this week because we want Indy to be nominated for Good Boy. We then close the segment by honoring the late-great Diane Keaton and her remarkable legacy.
– Top 5 Performances by Comedians (53:53)
This is an incredibly rich topic. There are many great performances by comedians over the decades that have surprised and thrilled us in some way. Sifting through all of these great performances to narrow down a list was quite challenging, but a ton of fun. Many of these are quintessentially why we have Best Surprise Performance at the InSession Film Awards each year. With that said, what would be your top 5 performances by comedians?
