On this episode, JD and Brendan review Benny Safdie’s new film The Smashing Machine, starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt! The film came in with a lot of hype surrounding The Rock’s performance and also winning the Silver Lion at this year’s Venice Film Festival, but for many reasons we discuss in the conversation, it just didn’t live up to the bill for us. Some of the film’s choices are quite baffling even.
