This week on the InSession Film Podcast, inspired by Disclosure Day and the idea of doing something alien related, we thought it would be fun to do our top 5 alien invasion movies! We also dive head on into the insane Steven Spielberg discourse and the debate over the comments made by Obsession‘s art director.

The conversation over Steven Spielberg and Disclosure Day was one of the wildest things we’ve ever seen on social media during a film’s opening weekend. To say that it was polarizing is a massive understatement. Regardless of how people felt about the film, it seemed as if everyone was out with pitchforks in hand, launching an obtuse discourse over Spielberg. So, yeah, we get pretty passionate in this segment ourselves.

Similarly, there’s been a ton of outrage over Sally Choi’s comments about her time working on Obsession. Given the film’s box office results, she feels as if her work has been undervalued, setting off a chain of reaction that was also quite the wildfire. So, naturally, we wanted to weigh in here as well.
– Top 5 Alien Invasion Movies (1:08:32)
We did this list once already back in 2016, however it’s been ten years (and JD was absent for that show as well) and we thought now would be an appropriate time to bring it back. There are tons of great alien invasion movies, including some great contenders since 2016 that belong in the conversation, making this a tricky list to narrow down. Especially given that alien “invasion” could be defined in a variety of ways. With that said, what did you think of of our lists?
