After some opening banter where we talk about the upcoming holidays, we begin the show by talking about the recent report that Steven Soderbergh was tapped to make a Star Wars movie with Adam Driver before it was killed by Disney. Why they would do such a terrible thing, we’ll never know, but we had to talk about it.
– Warner Bros. / Fast & Furious Update (38:54)
In other news, it was announced that Warner Bros. is still taking offers with Paramount/Skydance offering them another package. Netflix seems to be in on the negotiations as well. Given the year Warner Bros. has had, grossing over $4 billion at the box office, this seems insane. Is the industry over? Certainly feels like it. Speaking of, we talked about Fast & Furious once again because it might not be over after all given the latest tease by Vin Diesel.
– Top 5 Hangout Movies (1:01:42)
Nobody makes a great hangout movie like Richard Linklater. We’re excited for Blue Moon as he delves into that type once again, and it provoked us to want to talk about our favorite hangout films. There are countless examples, and narrowing them down to just five felt impossible, but boy did we have a great time with this list (it’s so rich we may do it again some time). With that said, what would be your top 5 hangout movies?
