– Opening Banter / 2025 in Film (0:30)
After some opening banter, we begin the show this week by discussing the year in film and how 2025 has resonated with us so far. It hasn’t been the greatest six month stretch, but we’ve seen some phenomenal movies that will unquestionably be in our Top 10 at the end of the year. In fact, two of the films on our lists are arguably two of the best of the decade to this point. However, as remarkable as the high end movies have been, the other end of that spectrum has equally been active. At least for us, we’ve had our fair share of disappointments this year.

– Top 5 Movies of 2025 So Far (25:11)
As noted above, 2025 in film has maybe left a little to be desired on the whole, but it’s also given us some all-time bangers. There have been some incredible surprises, a few foreign gems and it’s been the year of Steven Soderbergh. We fully expect the year to take off in the back half of 2025, but there’s still plenty to celebrate with what we’ve seen in the first six months. With that said, what would be your Top 5 films of the 2025 so far?
