We begin the show this week by discussing our VIP bonus content from last week and some other housekeeping stuff. Sometimes we can’t help ourselves and find ourselves in random conversation. This was definitely one of those moments, even though we intended to just plug a few things happening this week.

With the huge drop off at the box office for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, there was a lot of conversation about the current state of superhero movies and how we might be in a new era for cinema where capes aren’t the huge draw they were a decade ago. There are, of course, a lot of factors and we get pretty thorough talking about all of the nuances at play. We might be in a new era for film, but we have some questions that we needed to ask first before completely submitting to that notion.

Spoof movies have been around for a long time and include some of the very best comedies of all-time. Blazing Saddles and Monty Python and the Holy Grail, for example, are as iconic as anything we’ve ever seen in film. So with the new Naked Gun in theaters, we had to take advantage to talk about our favorite spoof comedies and why these films resonate so deeply with us.
