After some opening banter, we begin the show this week by talking about the absurd internet discourse that dominated much of last week (and especially the day we recorded this episode). For one, everyone was having the time of their lives discussing and meme-ing the Coldplay concert incident. But also, Christopher Nolan somehow sparked a lot of conversation by allowing people to buy IMAX tickets to The Odyssey a year in advance.
– The Late Show Cancelled / Wonder Woman / Ironheart (22:02)
Even thought it’s not film related, we also wanted to have some space to rant about Stephen Colbert’s The Last Show being cancelled over brazen corruption. Understandably, not everyone will agree with us, so feel free to skip ahead, but we felt passionate about it. In this segment, we also talk about Wonder Woman being fast-tracked at Warner Bros. for the new DCU and JD gives us this thoughts on Marvel’s latest Disney+ show Ironheart.
– Top 5 Neo-Westerns (54:40)
Neo-Westerns have been a prominent genre in the last 30 years, and it turns out, it’s one of the richest cinematic landscapes with some all-timers in this category. There are so many great films to choose from, making this exercise more challenging that we thought initially, but it’s also what made it really fun to talk about. With that said, what would be your Top 5 Neo-Western films?
