– Jay’s Surprise (3:17)
We, of course, admire Jay (and his lovely partner-in-crime Ryan McQuade) a great deal, even if he and JD have had a few fun scuffles in the past. Recently JD watched a movie that he knew would raise Jay’s eyebrow, so he invited Jay onto the show without telling him what it was they were going to discuss. It ended up being quite the surprise indeed for Jay, but it led to a great redemption story that we had a lot of fun indulging in as we talked about said movie.
– RDJ as Doctor Doom (56:47)
Marvel made a huge splash this last weekend at San Diego Comic-con with the announcement that Robert Downey Jr. would be returning to the MCU. This time, however, he will be playing the role of Doctor Doom. It’s a strange move for both parties and something we don’t see as a great fit at all. We love RDJ, but this is disappointing news that will likely sour many on his and the MCU’s legacy.
– Twisters (1:31:30)
As a result of JD going on vacation last week, he missed the Twisters review and wanted to give a few thoughts on the film. It’s a movie he’s been looking forward to all year long and was saddened to come out mixed on it overall.
– Announcement (1:37:21)
We round out the show this week with an announcement regarding Episode’s 599 and 600. For those who enjoy our yearly retrospectives, the next few weeks are going to be a lot of fun. We are celebrating 600 in a big way in about a month’s time.
