To open the show this week, we talk about an actual parade that took place in South Florida over the weekend before hopping into our new segment checking in on the box office “parade”…which is still very much on with Inside Out 2 and now A Quiet Place: Day One crushing in theaters. Lots of rabbit holes in this segment, but we have a lot of fun discussing how things might be shifting slightly and giving us hope.
– Gladiator II First Look / Brad Pitt (29:30)
Recently, we got our first look at Ridley Scott’s new film Gladiator II, and based off the images, there’s lots to be excited about. We also spend a few minutes discussing our lovely friends at Women InSession, who recently did an episode on Brad Pitt in the 21st Century and are not fond of his work in this era. However; because we feel quite differently, we thought it would be fun to add a little rebuttal to the conversation.
– Top 5 Movies of 2024 So Far (1:06:53)
Crazy to think it’s that time of year already. We are half-way through 2024 and have seen some great films over the last six months. The year might have started out kind of slow, but the year picked up in recent months and we saw some heavy hitters that will likely contend at the end of the year. We talk about our Top 5 movies of 2024 so far in the discussion, but we do reveal our current Top 10 on the whole at the very end of the segment.
