This week on Episode 414 of the InSession Film Podcast, we discussed our Top 5 most anticipated films of 2023. It’s a new year and that means new movies for us to look forward to this year. The wake of COVID isn’t completely over (as demonstrated by the aftermath of the Golden Globes), but it seems as if may be the first year where things feel as normalized as it was in 2019. And as a result, there is so much to look forward to in 2023. We’ll see films from Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott, David Fincher, Denis Villeneuve, and Greta Gerwig. Among many others! We’ll have a slew of blockbusters this year that include The Flash, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. There are other big films such as Creed III, John Wick: Chapter 4 and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (or is it just JD?) to look forward to as well. Not to mention our favorite filmmakers here at ISF, such as Hirokazu Kore-eda, Jeff Nichols and Kelly Reichardt. 2023 is shaping up to be a great year for film and we’re very excited for it.
For the sake of this post, we are going to list our true Top 10 most anticipated films of 2023. So these lists will be slightly different from what we discussed on the podcast.
