Chasing the Gold: Ben Miller’s 2027 Oscar Picks (June)

Cannes might have solidified the awards statuses of All of a Sudden and Fjord, but that’s only two films of the two dozen or so in the running.  We still seem to be throwing darts at some big films coming in the next few months.  The Odyssey is the one I am keeping the closest eye on, as the Nolan devotees can only do so much if the film gets middling reviews.  I am less enthusiastic about Wild Horse Nine than most everyone else I know, with the same going for The Social Reckoning.  One thing I do know…Sandra Hüller will probably be a presence on the campaign trail for one of her four awards-potential projects.

We probably will have to wait until September until we can officially start kicking things out of the way. Here is where I see the race as of June 2026.
